Consulting with Scott True
Consulting Update
A shift in how I offer consulting
For the time being, I am pausing traditional one-on-one consulting engagements.
Over the years, most consulting requests follow a similar pattern: a core set of high-performance and building science principles, followed by project-specific constraints and edge cases. Delivering this exclusively through deep, immersive, one-off consulting has become time-intensive which has taken away my focus elsewhere.
A better approach
I’m launching a private High Performance & Building Science community designed to make consulting more accessible, more efficient, and more transparent.
Inside the community:
- Questions are asked publicly (within the group)
- Answers benefit everyone, not just one project
- Foundational best practices are documented once and reused
- More complex questions can be addressed intentionally, with clear scope
At the start, I will be the primary person answering questions. Over time, additional vetted experts will be invited to participate.
This allows me to:
- Provide meaningful guidance without fully immersing myself in every project
- Focus effort where it actually adds value
- Help more people without diluting quality
How to get help now
If you’re looking for guidance on high-performance homes and building science decisions:
➡️ Join the High Performance Community
Depending on your membership level, you can:
- Read past questions and answers
- Access a growing knowledge library and reference materials
- Ask questions and participate in discussions
- Request deeper, paid research when a question requires analysis or original work
This replaces the current one-on-one intake and discovery calls.
What this is — and what it isn’t
- This is not a sales funnel for custom home projects
- This is not unlimited private consulting via DM or email
- This is a structured way to get thoughtful, experience-based answers
- This is a way to separate quick guidance from work that truly requires deep effort
Future immersive consulting
I understand that there are some projects that have levels of complexity that do warrant the traditional immersive consulting. If and when I reopen traditional consulting or project-specific engagements, it will be announced here.
